UPDATE: A Sequatchie County deputy who went missing in the woods during a foot pursuit has been found, Sheriff Bill Phillips said.

Deputies had attempted to stop a vehicle on a secluded roadway near Powerline Road when one of the occupants fled into the woods. While another deputy detained the remaining passenger, the pursuing deputy became lost around 4:00pm Central, according to the sheriff.

The deputy was later located after several hours. We are working to learn more about the fleeing occupant and the circumstances that led to the incident.
