LEESBURG, Fla. – A boil water advisory was issued on Thursday after a water main break in Leesburg, according to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority.
In a release, FGUA officials said the 4-inch main break happened at 11937 Layton Street.

Now, the advisory is in effect for the Western Shores System, which impacts nearly 500 customers.
“Service was interrupted this evening to begin repairs,” the release reads. “There is currently no estimated time for service restoration.”
While the advisory is in effect, FGUA officials urge customers to bring any water used for cooking or drinking to a “rolling boil” for one minute to remove any potential viruses.
In addition, bottled water can be used as a replacement.
