NASSAU COUNTY, FLORIDA, Fla. — It takes one tiny dot — one period — for a child predator to slip into your child’s online world. Experts say that’s all it can take for someone to impersonate your child, contact their friends, and start grooming them.
First Coast News is going inside undercover operations to reveal the tactics sexual predators use, and how fast they move. The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office allowed our reporter inside a sting operation for the first time.
Sheriff Bill Leeper says he wants this story public because these men are actively trying to meet children for sex.
"I want you to know what you are doing is creepy. You are scum. You're a lowlife. You should be locked up for life," Leeper said.
