JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - On Thursday, volunteers got together at the Jackson County Fairgrounds to prepare bags of food that will be delivered to food pantries on the coast.

The event was put on by “Extra Table Feeds”, a part of Extra Table.

Extra Table is a non-profit organization focused on delivering new, shelf-stable food across the state. “Extra Table Feeds” partnered with Ingalls and Chevron to fill the food distribution bags.

Event volunteers will be delivering the bags to food pantries across the six South Mississippi counties.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Manager of Stakeholder Engagement Lisa Bradley said its the perfect time of year to volunteer.
