EAST PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Boyd Gaming, the parent company behind the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino in East Peoria, showcased plans Thursday to build the casino’s replacement on the same side of the river.

Thursday morning, the company presented its vision for the $160 million new casino to the Illinois Gaming Board. The plans include ditching the iconic boat and attaching the new, larger building, referred to by the company as a “riverboat modernization,” to the current hotel.

Specifically, the presentation showed that the new building would expand the casino to 29,000 square feet, with the ballroom taking up 20,500 square feet. Two of the latest additions include a steakhouse and gastropub.
