The head of the University of Michigan had a simple and direct message for the Ann Arbor community — Sherrone Moore’s alleged actions will not be tolerated.
President Domenico Grasso penned a letter to the students and faculty on Thursday, one day after Michigan fired Moore, the head coach of the football team, after the school said it found “credible evidence” of an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
Moore — terminated for cause — was also jailed overnight Wednesday by local police on suspicion of assault, though he has not yet been charged.
