HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Competing in a tridual in front of their home crowd on Thursday, the Broncos defeated Sioux Falls, 27-21, then dominated Colby Community College, 46-4.
Against Sioux Falls, the Broncos won the first two matches by forfeit, as freshmen Miranda LaJevic and Raelynn O’Connor won at 103 and 110, respectively. At 117, freshman Sarah Spataro delivered a 10-4 decision victory before Sioux Falls won their first match at 124 by fall, making it 13-6 in favor of the Broncos.
Senior Larissa Kaz needed just 52 seconds to get a pin at 131, then junior Reagen Gallaway won by a 12-0 tech fall at 138 to put Hastings ahead 22-6 with five bouts left. The Cougars got a pin at 145, but freshman Jayla Ford responded with a late pin in her bout at 160. Sioux Falls won by fall
