MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Monroe City School Board Voted Unanimously not to require more parent and teacher signatures on a petition to move Neville High School into a Charter School.

Charter Association member Narissa Bryant says she is pleased that the Board is moving forward with the proposal that she says will bring more money to Neville High School.

“All of that funding will increase because the money will not come to the central office for financing the central office and other buildings,” Bryant said. “That money will be earmarked per pupil for Neville High School.”

The Board will vote on whether or not to make Neville High School in their next meeting next month.

If rejected, The Charter Association could appeal to the Board.
