KINSMAN — Township trustees approved a new one-year agreement with neighboring Johnston for emergency medical services from its fire department at the same price as last year.
Trustees approved the agreement for $102,173 for Johnston to provide EMS to Kinsman.
Officials said the cost is based on what is generated from Kinsman’s 2-mill fire levies.
This year, Kinsman has had 182 EMS calls.
Trustee Greg Leonhard said the agreement allows Johnston to use a Kinsman ambulance or have it stationed in Johnston as needed.
Officials said Johnston has hired a new ambulance billing service to collect more billing than a previous company.
Johnston also has contracts to provide EMS to Gustavus, Vernon and part of Greene.
