AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Two area high school football teams saw their championship dreams end in the state semifinals, falling just one win short of reaching the title games at AT&T Stadium.
West Texas High falls to Hamilton
In Class 2A Division I, the undefeated West Texas High Comanches lost to Hamilton 28-12 at Iowa Park.
The 14-0 Comanches took an early lead when Kelby Sherwood scored on a rushing touchdown to put West Texas High ahead 6-0 in the first quarter.
Hamilton responded quickly as quarterback Carson Roberts connected with Pierce Summers for a touchdown, giving the Bulldogs a 7-6 lead.
