WAUNAKEE, Wis. (WKOW) — The Waunakee Area EMS team is mourning the loss of Daria Deibele, a dedicated paramedic who was known for her bright spirit and exceptional skills.

Deibele began her journey with the department in 2022 as a volunteer EMT-Basic, going through paramedic school, and transitioning to a full-time role in early 2024.

In a Facebook post by the Waunakee Area EMS, they state that "Daria was a bright and joyful presence in our EMS family."

The department says her infectious laugh and commitment to patient care has left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the communities she served.

Deibele had also joined Whitewater Fire and EMS.

Her cause of death was not revealed by the department in respect to the family.

Waunakee Area EMS will release when her service will be.
