New Delhi: The Game Awards 2025 rolled on for nearly three hours, and like every year, it felt part celebration, part chaos. World premiere trailers kept popping up between trophies, ad breaks looked like trailers, and social media stayed loud all night. I was watching this live in India, refreshing streams and feeds, half excited and half tired, the usual routine.

By the time the final awards landed, one name had already taken over the night. Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 did what many expected and still managed to feel overwhelming. The dark fantasy RPG walked away with nine trophies, more than any other game this year, and sealed the biggest prize in gaming.
