The Colonial Heights Library in Sacramento has partially reopened more than a year after fire and smoke damage forced the branch to close. Basic services, including book checkout, are available with a limited collection while repairs continue. The fire began in the community room kitchen last year, and community members have been eager for the branch’s return. Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra says Colonial Heights is the most-utilized library in the county for its size, making the reopening especially meaningful for local residents.
