Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on December 12 said that the government is in final stages of negotiations with Canadian alternate asset management firm Brookfield to invest over $1 billion to set up its global capability centre (GCC) in Mumbai.

This will be the MNC’s largest GCC in Asia, spanning 2 million sq ft and expected to create 15,000 direct jobs and 30,000 indirect jobs.

“We have been in talks with Brookfield to set up Asia’s largest GCC in Mumbai. This will be built across 2 million sq ft area that will create 15,000 direct and 30,000 indirect jobs. This is a very positive move towards our efforts to make Maharashtra the GCC Capital.
