Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored the second century of his Youth ODI career during an ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup match between India and UAE at the ICC Academy on Friday morning in Dubai. Sooryavanshi racked up 171 off 95 with 9 fours and a record 14 sixes to help India U19 post 433/6 in 50 overs – their highest score in Youth ODI history.

Sooryavanshi took just 56 deliveries to reach three figures and thus recorded the third quickest hundred at U19 level. He also holds the record for the quickest ton in this category.

The 14-year-old though was quite measured in his celebration after reaching then hundred. He gently lifted his bat towards his teammates who gave him a standing ovation from the dug-out. The teenager looked upwards with folded hands, thanking heavens for the innings.
