MONTICELLO -- A new era has officially begun for the University of Arkansas at Monticello football team.

Gary Goff was introduced as the Boll Weevils' new head coach during a news conference Thursday morning on the school's campus.

"What an honor," Goff said to a attentive crowd following an introduction by the school's athletic director and his coaching predecessor Hud Jackson. "I couldn't be more excited right now. Me and my family are on cloud nine, we really are. I want to start by thanking (UAM Chancellor) Dr. (Peggy) Doss, Coach Jackson, the search committee. ... We are blessed.

"We are blessed and very thankful to be entrusted to lead this program."

The 52-year-old Mississippi native played collegiately at Valdosta State in Georgia before embarking on his coaching career. After
