On November 24, 2025, the Allahabad High Court Lucknow bench rejected a case brought by a husband who was contesting a family court’s order which directed him to pay interim maintenance money to his estranged wife pending divorce . The court said that an able-bodied husband can’t escape his legal duty to support (pay maintenance money) his wife by claiming he is unemployed.
