Dogs have a reputation for pulling off accidental pranks on their humans, the kind that leave us doubled over with laughter at their goofy mischief.

Still, every now and then, the urge to flip the script kicks in. There’s something irresistible about testing how they’ll react when the joke is on them.

I’ll admit, the thought has crossed my mind more than once.

One of the oldest tricks in the book is snapping a biscuit in half and pretending it’s two separate treats. If the pup takes the bait, it usually earns a laugh and maybe even a wag of approval.

In Texas, though, a Golden Retriever’s owner decided to raise the stakes. When a guest stopped by, the dog lit up with excitement, tail wagging furiously, only to be met with a prank that left her staring in total confusion.
