Bhadohi, Dec 12: The pradhan of a village in Bhadohi has been arrested in connection with the death of a 67-year-old businessman, who died after being hit from behind by a speeding car in a suspected case of targeted attack.

Police said the victim, Kamal Kant of Dhaskari village, had recently filed a complaint against the pradhan and his associates alleging corruption. Acting on his application, the District Magistrate had ordered an inquiry and suspended the pradhan’s financial powers, leading to rising tensions between the two sides.

Besides the pradhan, Manish Yadav (35), police have also arrested his uncle, Mehilal Yadav (35). Bhadohi Circle Officer Ashok Kumar Mishra said two other accused — Manish’s nephew Sujit Yadav and another uncle, Munnalal
