LIHUE — Wednesday marked a busy day of giving for the HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union.
The only branch on Kauai distributed a total of $10,000 to the two food banks on the island, and followed that presentation with a delivery of 50 “WOW!” gift boxes to “deserving young individuals” at the Boys & Girls Club.
According to Branch Manager Karen Shigemoto, the awards of $5,000 each were presented to the Kauai Independent Food Bank and the Hawaii Foodbank Kauaiunder the Year-End Giving initiative. The award represents the entire HawaiiUSA FCU ‘ohana, and the Kauai branch staff and employees.
The 50 gift boxes for the Boys & Girls Club Hawaii were provided under the credit union’s “Packed with Aloha” initiative.
