Strong Potential gets Hall of Fame rider Joel Rosario aboard in a field of seven 2-year-olds going 5 1/2 furlongs for $150,000 on the first day of a new racing season in Hot Springs. Longtime Asmussen clients Kirk and Judy Robison own the Yaupon colt, whose late grandsire Uncle Mo won the male 2-year-old championship after a Breeders' Cup triumph in 2010. Yaupon leads first-crop sires with progeny earnings of more than $2.7 million.
