The Southern Railway has announced that maintenance work is underway at Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi. Several trains have been affected by the works, as there have been changes in their departure/arrival timings. Tamil media reports said on Friday that some train services have even been partially cancelled. Here is what Southern Railway passengers need to know about diversions and cancellations due to the Thoothukudi situation.

Palakkad Junction to Thoothukudi Palaruvi Express (Train No. 16792) will operate only up to Tirunelveli from December 14 to January 27, and will not cover Tuti Melur and Tuticorin. In the opposite direction, the Thoothukudi Palakkad Junction train (Train No. 16791) will operate from Tirunelveli from December 15 to January 28.
