Councillors have given the go-ahead to plans to build 53 homes on the site of a former Royal Mail sorting office in Stretford , even though it conflicts with the local authority’s own design code and will result in a ‘significant’ loss of trees.
The area on Lacy Street is currently a pay-and-display car park. Trafford town hall bosses submitted the application to their own planning committee, which approved the scheme last night.
Amenity space, car parking and cycle parking are also part of the plan. There will be 10 two-bed houses, 25 three-bed townhouses, 12 four-bed townhouses and two apartment blocks totalling six two-bed apartments, some two and three storeys high. View 3 Images
