Christmas Karma movie review: Do we really need a “Bollywood-inspired” adaptation of Charles Dickens’s novella A Christmas Carol, just because it is the silly season? And we presume Bollywood only because there is an Indian who is the Scrooge of this story, and a Punjabi dance number that pops up in the middle.

That Indian is Kunal Nayyar, of The Big Bang Theory fame, who is horribly miscast as the person needing lessons in getting into the spirit of Christmas . Nayyar as Mr Sood, in a bad salt-and-pepper wig and beard, carries a lot of burden indeed, explaining his bitterness and churlishness.
