A fisherman’s routine usually starts with a quiet ritual, aka collecting bait worms. They appear mostly during low tides, with the fishermen digging these wriggling invertebrates either with their hands and using rakes or bait pumps. The worms are gold in the fishing world because they help in luring fresh fish. So even though it’s hard work, fishermen keep at it. But once in a while, this humble routine delivers something no one predicts.
That’s exactly what happened when an unnamed fisherman from Stockholm, Sweden, stumbled upon something far more valuable on a simple worm hunt, reported Popular Science. According to county officials, he discovered a corroded copper cauldron filled with nearly 13 pounds of treasure dating back to the Middle Ages. The incident happened last month.
