The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners formally adopted next year's budget on Dec. 8, moving forward with a 3% cut across all departments.

County commissioners unanimously voted to approve $650 million to cover all county operations in 2026 , including just under $138 million for the general fund that will bear the weight of ensuring Kitsap's financial sustainability. The significant portion of the budget, which funds departments like the sheriff's office, parks, human services and more, was at the center of deliberations over previous months.
