There was a dark cloud on the horizon.
I mean literally on the horizon. I was aiming the camera northward at the soft blue sky and wispy clouds over a bright yellow stubble field and saw a heavy grey streak right at the line where the yellow met the blue. I already knew a cold front was on the way out here toward Drumheller so I was pretty sure the dark streak heralded its imminent arrival. I just didn’t expect it to be so, I dunno, obvious.

I had come out this way mostly because the forecast called for clear skies and low winds. So far, that was accurate. It would be colder — also accurate — but not bitterly so. There was also a chance I might see a snowy owl. Nice bonus if I could find one.
