Architect behind Altadena house rebuild
Franklin Hills— The architect who designed the first Altadena home to be approved for rebuilding following the Eaton fire says the structure should be completed by the end of this month. "We have had very smooth sailing aided by the building department," said Trinidad Campbell , who said construction is in its sixth month.
Campbell noted that the new house will be very different from what stood there before. "To begin with, it is made out of cement block, all the cells of the blocks have cement poured into them with rebar to avoid damages from earthquakes," she said. "Fire cannot burn down cement blocks."
The first Altadena home to be rebuilt received it final permits earlier this month.
