Chris Davies won’t stand in Lyndon Dykes’ way if the striker wants to pursue regular football away from Birmingham City.

Dykes has already admitted that he wants to play regularly in the second half of the season to get himself in tip-top shape for Scotland’s World Cup campaign.

Davies hasn’t been able to guarantee Dykes minutes in the Championship this season. Jay Stansfield, Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo Furuhashi have been preferred up front, meaning Dykes has only played 308 league minutes.

Dykes is clearly valued by Davies as an impact substitute and has scored two winning goals in the Championship, but a few minutes here and there off the bench isn’t likely to quench the 30-year-old’s thirst for football.
