A Massachusetts driver was “vastly exceeding” speed limits, creating “massive smoke clouds” doing burnouts and other “dangerous stunts” to post on social media, according to the Pittsfield Police Department.
And those posts helped officers bring charges.
“Our streets are shared spaces, not your private stunt track,” the police department wrote. “The risks posed by this behavior — the loss of life, severe injury, and property damage — are immense and unacceptable."
An investigation started on Dec. 1 after an anonymous tip sent videos of a green Dodge Charger. Police claimed the videos showed the drive was “turning our streets into death traps.”
The driver, who police didn’t name, was charged with 8 counts of operating to endanger and 5 counts of marked lanes violation.
