Dozens of open investigations, faulty evidence handling and employees’ negative attitudes toward their work culture are revealed in a third-party review of the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education Police Department (BOEPD) and the district’s Human Resources (HR).

The 99-page audit was obtained and reviewed by the Savannah Morning News (SMN) from a Freedom of Information Act request. It was conducted by experienced law enforcement consultants with no prior or existing affiliations with the district or its police department, and was published in mid-September.
