Two mayoral elections were held in Clark County in early December 1925. Washougal elected George W. Sault, superintendent of the Washougal woolen mill, by one vote. In Ridgefield, H.C. Cornell won his second term as mayor. Cornell ran unopposed in an election where “little interest” was shown: only 38 ballots were cast.

Thirty-four employees of the Washington State Highway Department in Vancouver made appointments at the Red Cross bloodmobile when it “calls at Vancouver for blood donations.” The blood drive was organized in consideration of the nation’s war effort. The 34 employees accounted for about a third of the highway department’s local workforce.
