PELLSTON – The Inland Lakes Bulldogs finally got tested this season.

Facing the Pellston Hornets on the road , the Bulldogs started off lightning fast and built a big lead, but it almost slipped away because of inconsistent play in the second and third quarters.

But right when they needed it late, the closers stepped up for the Bulldogs, who remained unbeaten on the season with a hard-fought 56-47 boys basketball victory in Pellston.

“I’m glad we started fast because without that huge start, we probably don’t win this game,” Inland Lakes coach Bryan Newman said. “Hats off to Pellston – they played an unbelievable game.
