The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the tragic and untimely death of Assam’s cultural icon Zubeen Garg has named seven accused in its chargesheet, with murder charges invoked against four of them. The chargesheet was formally submitted before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (Metro), on Friday, December 12.

Briefing the media, Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta, who heads the nine-member SIT, provided detailed information about the sections applied to each of the accused based on the investigation findings.

According to Gupta, Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with murder and carries a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment, has been invoked against:
