The administration of President Donald Trump is proposing to ask visitors from dozens of nations to submit five years of social media history before entering the U.S., according to CBS News.
The proposed changes still have to be reviewed by the White House.
Travelers would also be required to submit email addresses they have used in the past 10 years and the personal information of immediate family members, including phone numbers and residences. The submission of social media history would be mandatory, according to CBS .
The changes come in response to an executive order Trump signed earlier this year that aimed to keep out foreigners who might pose a threat to national security or public safety.
The new rules would apply to citizens of 42 nations enrolled in a visa waiver program.
