Frank Lampard is looking for fresh players in the January transfer window who can hit the ground running in terms of helping fulfil his and Coventry City ’s promotion ambitions.

The Sky Blues boss’s squad has been stretched for weeks with Brandon Thomas-Asante filling in several positions including a nine game injury absence from star midfielder Jack Rudoni, as well as the odd game here and there for wide men Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Ephron Mason-Clark.

Now, however, the versatile forward is sidelined himself for several weeks with a hamstring strain just as Rudoni has returned to fitness, but City continue to look thin on paper and Lampard would clearly like to add strength in depth next month to ensure the club capitalise on their position at the top of the league.
