Iranian Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has been detained by authorities in Mashhad while attending a memorial for a human rights lawyer recently found dead under unknown circumstances, her supporters said on Friday.

A foundation in Mohammadi’s name said she was “violently detained earlier today by security and police forces", although there has been no official word for Iran, reported The Associated Press . It wasn’t clear if authorities would immediately return her to prison to serve the rest of her term.
