WAUKEE, Iowa —
Some of Iowa’s best high school wrestlers got the chance of a lifetime Thursday night — sharing the mat with the Iowa Hawkeyes and Grand View University women’s wrestling teams.
Raccoon River Valley and Ankeny, respectively the No. 1 and No. 2 girls’ wrestling teams in the state, faced off in a highly anticipated dual. Raccoon River won 40-35, before the Iowa Hawkeye women wrestled against Grand View University.
Katie Biscoglia is already a three-time state champion, multiple-time freestyle state winner, and three-time Fargo qualifier. She and teammate Cassidy McCallister — both winners in the dual against Ankeny — are among the high schoolers who plan to continue their wrestling careers in college.
Thursday’s event gave them a glimpse of what that future might look like
