J&K Govt designates Tribal Affairs Deptt as Nodal Agency for Forest Rights Act implementation

Jammu, Dec 12: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has notified the Tribal Affairs Department as the Nodal Department for implementing the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, across the Union Territory. As per Government Order 1876‑JK(GAD) of 2025, the Administrative Secretary of the department will serve as the Nodal Officer to coordinate with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for monitoring and reporting progress under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan.
