Agartala, 12 th December 2025: In a major anti-narcotics operation, police in North Tripura recovered a large quantity of dry cannabis during the early hours of Friday at the Churaibari police check-post along the Tripura–Assam border. While conducting routine checking on National Highway 8 (Assam–Agartala road), the police intercepted an Alto car bearing registration number TR05B–0314 and discovered a significant amount of contraband.
During the search, police found 24 packets of dry cannabis hidden inside bags carried by four women posing as passengers, as well as in several concealed chambers of the vehicle, including gaps in the dashboard and spaces beneath the seats.
