KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Three men from Detroit are facing drug charges after Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies found more than a pound each of marijuana and methamphetamine in their car, according to court records obtained by WVLT News.

It happened Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. when the deputies stopped 30-year-old Jairam Stewart, 29-year-old Frederick Roberts and 30-year-old Martel Harris for speeding on I-75 near Callahan Drive, the records said.

Deputies said they smelled marijuana in the car, and a K-9 officer who responded later alerted that there were drugs in the car, the records said. It led to a search of the car, and officers reported finding 503.5 grams of marijuana 470 grams of methamphetamine and items like a digital scale.
