Legionnaires’ skid reaches 28 games
The Sarnia Legionnaires have two games left before the holiday break to earn their first win of the Greater Ontario Hockey League season.
The Legionnaires are 0-28-0-0 after Thursday’s 5-1 loss to the LaSalle Vipers before 605 fans at Pat Stapleton Arena.
Addison Murphy-Rodgers staked the Legionnaires to an early lead with his first GOHL goal, but the Vipers led 2-1 after one period and 3-1 after two.
Legionnaires goalie Andrew Gaulton made 33 saves.
Joshua Lepain had two goals and three assists for the Vipers (13-14-2-0), who are eighth in the Western Conference. Adam Bartel made 23 saves.
The Legionnaires visit the Strathroy Rockets Saturday and host the Listowel Cyclones Thursday at 7:10 p.m.
