Two men will appear at Teesside Crown Court to face fraud charges over alleged sub-standard home improvement works.

Liam John Jennings and Daniel Francis McCauley each face three charges of operating a company with intent to defraud creditors, or for other fraudulent purposes.

The charges relate to two companies they were associated with – J&W Driveways and Property Maintenance Limited, and The Driveway and Landscape Specialist Limited.

They are alleged to have avoided remedying defective or sub-standard work, as well as the completion of work once payment was made; kept deposits paid by customers and not conducted the work which had been agreed; avoided the payment of legitimately owed refunds; threatened and abused customers so as to avoid payments, and provided bogus guarantees.
