A string of aggravated robberies that happened at Stripes convenience stores in December 2024 ended in prison sentences for two Corpus Christi men on Dec. 11.

U.S. District Judge David S. Morales sentenced Jonathan Stein, 20, to a 96-month term of imprisonment, and Alvaro Martinez, 21, to a 68-month term in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas.

The two men pleaded guilty Aug. 4 to robbing three Stripes convenience stores in Corpus Christi between Dec. 25, 2024, and Dec. 27, 2024, according to the news release.

Both must also serve three years of supervised release after their prison terms.

Evidence presented at the court hearing detailed the robberies that the men committed on Christmas Day and in the days that followed.
