A young man was killed in a car crash outside an east London station early on Friday morning.

The emergency services , including the police , ambulance service and London Fire Brigade , were called to Walthamstow at 12:30am to reports of a collision at the junction of Blackhorse Road and Forest Road.

A cordon was set up and the road was closed.

A 26-year-old man who was travelling on foot was killed in the fatal crash outside Blackhorse Road station.

Paramedics treated the victim at the scene but he sadly died shortly after.

The driver was a 52-year-old man. The Metropolitan Police said the car rammed into a building following the collision.

He suffered minor injuries and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The man is in police
