A handful of players from D1 champion Detroit Catholic Central were selected along with four from D2 champs Orchard Lake St. Mary’s to the 2025 Michigan Sports Writers Division 1-2 All-State football team.

The Shamrocks’ first-teamers were receiver Samson Gash, offensive lineman Benny Eziuka, defensive lineman Jack Janda and defensive back Gideon Gash, and quarterback Duke Banta was a second-team pick. Samson, who had a team-high five catches and returned a punt 48 yards in the final, was a dynamic player in all three phases and a Mr. Football candidate for good reason.
