Nuapada : A jawan serving at the 216th CRPF Battalion Camp in Sunabeda Sanctuary in Nuapada district, has died by suicide, shooting himself with his service gun.

The deceased, identified as Gopinath Shabar, hails from Ghardhara village under Khariar block.

Shabar, who leaves behind his wife, a daughter, and a son, was found dead at the camp. The reason behind his drastic action remains unclear. Senior police officials visited the scene to assess the situation, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the suicide.
