Port Huron woman says city project left her basement flooded

PORT HURON, MI — A Port Huron resident says her basement flooded with more than 2 feet of water after contractors working on a city utilities project left a street valve open, causing thousands of dollars in damage and months of frustration.

Kari Kryger, a homeowner who lives on Willow Street, spoke during public comment at the Dec. 8 City Council meeting, telling officials she has spent nearly three months trying to resolve the aftermath of the incident.
