EXCLUSIVE: Freddie Highmore ( The Good Doctor ) has attached to star in Life on Other Planets , a romantic comedy from Sony Pictures that is targeting a streaming release.

Reps for Sony couldn’t be reached for comment. Plot details are under wraps, and a director is not yet attached, so it’s early days here. But the script is by Pat Cunnane , the scribe whose Black List script Eternity was recently produced for A24 by Star Thrower Entertainment. Highmore will produce Life on Other Planets with Claire Londy through their Alfresco Pictures banner.

A Golden Globe nominee, Highmore is known for his starring roles in the series The Good Doctor and Bates Motel , having also exec produced the former. In film, he’s known for roles in Finding Neverland , Tim Burton’s Charl
