Two men injured in separate motorcycle collisions months apart in Waipahu died this week, Honolulu police said Thursday.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office notified HPD on Thursday that a 50-year-old motorcyclist involved in a July 15 crash on Waipahu Street had died from his injuries. Police said the rider was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he struck an 18-year-old pedestrian who was not in a crosswalk.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was first taken to the hospital in serious condition, then downgraded to critical. The pedestrian also suffered serious injuries.
